How does the treatment actually work?

What are the side effects?

How are LED's different from Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy?
Other light-based skin therapies including intense pulsed light and laser treatments rely on thermal injury to the skin’s collagen, water or blood vessels to create changes in the skin appearance. LED Skin Rejuvenation does not rely on thermal energy and the related tissue trauma to effect change. Therefore, patients are not subject to the variables associated with wound healing.

LEDs do not deliver enough concentrated energy to damage the tissue, but they do deliver enough energy to stimulate a response from the body to heal itself. With a low peak power output but high duty cycle, the LEDs provide a much gentler delivery of the same healing wavelengths of light as does the laser but at a substantially greater energy output. For this reason, LEDs do not have the same risk of accidental eye damage that lasers do.

How does LED Skin Rejuvenation work?

How many treatments will I need?
Typically treatments are spread over several months. employing a rotating wire brush or diamond wheel to plane down or sand the skin's irregular area. Although the European market has been using microdermabrasion since approximately 1980, the first system utilizing this mechanical exfoliation technique was marketed in the US in January 1996. Originally developed for skin resurfacing, the use of microdermabrasion systems that incorporate the use of vacuum suction devices has shown tremendous benefits in skin regeneration. While the focus with microdermabrasion is on the surface exfoliation, there is also a beneath the surface action because of the vacuum suction. Over an extended period of time, skin care professionals have observed noticeable improvements in skin tissue resulting from collagen stimulation. It comes as no surprise, therefore, that both aestheticians and physicians have embraced microdermabrasion as an anti-aging therapy.

what is microdermabrasion?

how does microdermabrasion work?
This type of exfoliation is performed by gently sandblasting the skin with a high pressure flow of ultra fine inert corundum crystals designed to remove the outer most layers of the epidermis(stratum corneum) followed with a vacuum suction action that removes
the crystals. While the crystals are performing the exfoliation, the vacuum suction action taking place is equally important because it is stimulating the lower layers of the skin Combining skin exfoliation with regenerating suction, this unique system stimulates subdermal activities that "renew" the anti-aging mechanisms of the skin that slow with age. how many treatments are needed?
Microdemabrasion is a progressive treatment, not aggressive. Although one microdermabrasion will yield a fresher, smoother looking skin, generally results are realized after the forth, fifth or sixth treatment. Average treatment protocol is 4-12 treatments. How many treatments might be necessary will depend on the condition of the skin and the needs of the client. Initially treatments
can be performed every 7-10 days or 10-14 days apart. Once the series of treatments is completed it is recommended that monthly maintenance continue in order to maintain the desired result.

Exfoliation, Massage & Painless Extractions

This two step treatment causes the skin to receive product by first exfoliating and then deep penetration of nutrients, stimulating the skins natural collagen fibers to help re-build the tissues. Collagen fibers are what give the skin a plump look as seen in youthful skin. Elastin is the fibers that give your face its elasticity. Both the exfoliating treatment and the product infusion help stimulate and rebuild these fibers.

Ultrasonic has been used for cosmetic purposes since the early 1980‘s. Because of its wide therapeutic use and the great results, the ultrasonic instrument is a natural for use in skin care treatments.

Ultrasonic sound waves act on the body in the following way: they stimulate cells. The tiny massage it produces expands the space in which the cells exist, causing movement of cytoplasm, the rotation of mitochondria, and the vibration of the cell nucleus; it stimulates and expands the cell membrane. It improves local blood and lymph circulation and increase penetration of skin enhancing products.

Warming and heating action is one of the most important therapeutic factors of Ultrasound. It is a kind of internal heat, with an increase of about 79-80% - this heat is carried away by the blood circulation and is not perceived by the client. This warming action can change the blood circulation and help to reduce inflammation. It is of great benefit prior plastic surgery to reduce swelling and after the healing process is well on its way to reduce puffiness. It produces a relaxing and comforting effect on the client.

Small doses of ultrasound can promote the synthesis of protein inside the cells, help to regenerate wounded tissues and promote the synthesis of fiber cells in the body. The accelerated metabolism of the cells changes the pH level of the skin to a more alkaline state and facilitates the absorption of any induced products. The skin visibly lightens and smoothes.

The Ultrasonic Spatula is the new generation of microdermabrasion or what is being called “soft peeling”. There is little to no redness or downtime with this treatment. This unit offers ablation or retexturing results with the safe and gentle use of ultrasound vibration of up to 28,000 cycles per second.

First, the Ultrasonic vibrations exfoliate the superficial scaly layers of the skin, reviving the skin tissue. When water is exposed to ultrasound vibrations, the ultrasonic emission has a spectacular effect on the water molecules, which become pulverized. This is called micronization. It creates a soft peeling effect rendering the skin youthful and luminous after the first treatment.

Secondly, the sound waves are used to push in vital nutrients, as determined by the esthetician. This flip side of the spatula provides an intense micro-massage to heat the skin tissue, stimulating the blood flow. This position of the spatula helps the penetration of regenerating skin care products into the deeper levels of skin tissue, again accelerating blood circulation and strengthening of the skin tissue metabolism resulting in reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
