Why We Age...After puberty your body virtually ceases to produce elastin (provides elasticity of your skin) and the production of collagen (hydration preventing wrinkles) is reduced at a rate of 1% to 2% per year. What is Microcurrent?

How does the treatment actually work?

Microcurrent aids in reducing the signs of aging by utilizing a low level of electricity known as microcurrent. These tiny microcurrent impulses trigger chemical reactions at a cellular level to enhance the production of natural collagen and elastin, provide circulatory benefits and work directly on the nerves and muscle fibers. The result is visible firming and smoothing of the skin.

What are the side effects?

Microcurrent changes muscle tissue, softens scar tissue, and increases circulation with the effect of removing long stored waste products and increasing cellular metabolism so quickly that there is often a detoxification reaction after treatment. Some people have a similar reaction after a massage but the reaction after Microcurrent is stronger because so much is accomplished in such a short period of time. The side effects can include nausea, fatigue, drowsiness, a temporary increase in pain, and a flu-like feeling. The side effects usually start during or about 90 minutes after treatment, and may last from 4 to 24 hours. There have been no lasting adverse reactions reported. Microcurren has a history of being very safe.

What can I do about the side effects?

You should drink at least two quarts of water in the two hours following treatment. If you feel the side effects return, drink more water and it should pass in about 20 minutes.

Do the benefits last?

Every patient responds individually but the changes to the tissues seem to be long lasting. About 60 to 80% of the changes created in one treatment last until the next treatment, about four to seven days. Your muscles are used to responding the way they are and may return to the old configuration if not treated again, although some patients have had permanent changes in one treatment.

How are LED's different from Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy?
Other light-based skin therapies including intense pulsed light and laser treatments rely on thermal injury to the skin’s collagen, water or blood vessels to create changes in the skin appearance. LED Skin Rejuvenation does not rely on thermal energy and the related tissue trauma to effect change. Therefore, patients are not subject to the variables associated with wound healing.

LEDs do not deliver enough concentrated energy to damage the tissue, but they do deliver enough energy to stimulate a response from the body to heal itself. With a low peak power output but high duty cycle, the LEDs provide a much gentler delivery of the same healing wavelengths of light as does the laser but at a substantially greater energy output. For this reason, LEDs do not have the same risk of accidental eye damage that lasers do.

The LED dispersesment over a greater surface area results in a faster treatment time for a given area than laser. LEDs are safer, more cost effective, provide a gentle but effective delivery of light and a greater energy output per unit of surface area in a given time duration.

How does LED Skin Rejuvenation work?
LED's offer a totally natural, non-ablative method for skin rejuvenation. The light from the LED's interacts with cells and stimulates them to produce new collagen and elastin. Studies confirm that the same LED energy can be used to inhibit collagen formation, which can be helpful in the treatment of scars. By manipulating the wavelengths, cells can be turned on and off.

How many treatments will I need?
Typically treatments are spread over several months. The number of treatments and the treatment times will vary depending on the problem being treated, the amount of surface area treated and the area treated. Since the results are progressive, you will notice more correction with each treatment. As full correction approaches, treatment intervals can be expanded to three to six month intervals. Since the skin continues to age, maintenance treatments will be required.

Will the treatments hurt?

ULTRASONIC

Exfoliation, Massage & Painless Extractions

This two step treatment causes the skin to receive product by first exfoliating and then deep penetration of nutrients, stimulating the skins natural collagen fibers to help re-build the tissues. Collagen fibers are what give the skin a plump look as seen in youthful skin. Elastin is the fibers that give your face its elasticity. Both the exfoliating treatment and the product infusion help stimulate and rebuild these fibers.

Ultrasonic has been used for cosmetic purposes since the early 1980‘s. Because of its wide therapeutic use and the great results, the ultrasonic instrument is a natural for use in skin care treatments.

Ultrasonic sound waves act on the body in the following way: they stimulate cells. The tiny massage it produces expands the space in which the cells exist, causing movement of cytoplasm, the rotation of mitochondria, and the vibration of the cell nucleus; it stimulates and expands the cell membrane. It improves local blood and lymph circulation and increase penetration of skin enhancing products.

Warming and heating action is one of the most important therapeutic factors of Ultrasound. It is a kind of internal heat, with an increase of about 79-80% - this heat is carried away by the blood circulation and is not perceived by the client. This warming action can change the blood circulation and help to reduce inflammation. It is of great benefit prior plastic surgery to reduce swelling and after the healing process is well on its way to reduce puffiness. It produces a relaxing and comforting effect on the client.

Small doses of ultrasound can promote the synthesis of protein inside the cells, help to regenerate wounded tissues and promote the synthesis of fiber cells in the body. The accelerated metabolism of the cells changes the pH level of the skin to a more alkaline state and facilitates the absorption of any induced products. The skin visibly lightens and smoothes.

The Ultrasonic Spatula is the new generation of microdermabrasion or what is being called “soft peeling”. There is little to no redness or downtime with this treatment. This unit offers ablation or retexturing results with the safe and gentle use of ultrasound vibration of up to 28,000 cycles per second.

First, the Ultrasonic vibrations exfoliate the superficial scaly layers of the skin, reviving the skin tissue. When water is exposed to ultrasound vibrations, the ultrasonic emission has a spectacular effect on the water molecules, which become pulverized. This is called micronization. It creates a soft peeling effect rendering the skin youthful and luminous after the first treatment.

Secondly, the sound waves are used to push in vital nutrients, as determined by the esthetician. This flip side of the spatula provides an intense micro-massage to heat the skin tissue, stimulating the blood flow. This position of the spatula helps the penetration of regenerating skin care products into the deeper levels of skin tissue, again accelerating blood circulation and strengthening of the skin tissue metabolism resulting in reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
